Road Trip IPA wins Consistency of Excellence award at AIBAs

We're excited to share the news that Holgate Brewhouse's Road Trip American IPA won a ‘Consistency of Excellence Award’ at the AIBAs last week. This means the beer, first brewed in 2009, has won a Gold Medal three years running - an honour only a handful of breweries receive each year.

Natasha Holgate says, 'Our Road Trip AIPA has always been a popular favourite. It's great to receive to receive industry recognition 3 years in a row."

'It’s a personal favourite of the brewing team', Paul Holgate agrees, 'and winning this award is great recognition for our brewers and the business as we place a high value on quality and consistency.'

Road Trip IPA is a homage to the classic style of American IPA, which pre-dates even the West Coast IPA style, and is for many the epitome of craft beer. It was inspired by the hoppy beers from Oregon and Washington State that founders Paul and Tash enjoyed on their family holiday and beer tour around the USA's Pacific North West in 2009.

Celebrating 25 years in 2024, Holgate is one of the oldest breweries independent breweries in Australia, seeing many breweries come and go in that time. As a regional brewery – and vital employer in the Macedon Ranges – successes like these help to keep Holgate beers on the radar of beer drinkers around Australia (they are distributed Australia-wide and into some export markets). Focusing on consistent quality products, often in traditional styles, has allowed Holgate to carve out a lane in a very competitive marketplace.

Paul and Natasha extend a warm congratulations to their team on a job well done and invite the wider community to support Holgate and independent beer.
