Proudly at the forefront of Australia’s craft brewing movement for 20 years, Holgate Brewhouse is 100% independent and has fostered innovation and creativity in traditionally crafted beers since 1999. Co-founded by Paul Holgate and Tash Holgate, the family-owned business continues to share their passion for bold balanced beers through their production brewery, brew-pub and tourism operation in the village of Woodend; just an hour from Melbourne in the magnificent Macedon Ranges!
The Holgate Brewpub is a historic hotel, with stylishly refurbished 10-room accommodation right above the brewing operations! With 12 Holgate beers on tap, all made on-site, there’s something for everyone….. so grab a tasting paddle and decide which is your favourite.
From Paul Holgate’s early home-brew days focussing on European brewing traditions, the range in the Holgate front-bar includes 2 lagers, wheat beers, and British beer-engines showcasing traditional English ales right alongside their modern incarnations of hoppy pales and IPAs.
Our Hotel is a great meeting place for friends and family catch-ups, with private dining rooms available plus function/meeting space.
An hour by V/Line train from either Melbourne and Bendigo, or a short 45 min by car, a day trip or short stay to check out all things Holgate is the perfect way to spend a day – or the whole weekend!
